I'm trying to get the hang of using the SIM800L V2 and it is taunting me a bit I feel
The current setup:
Arduino Nano
SD card reader
SIM800L
All connected and powered by a 5V 2A external power supply.
Back home it was working, sometimes the text messages was delayed a bit both send to my phone from the module and received (up to 5 minutes), but it was working and didn't drop connection.
Now for easter break I'm visiting my parents and brought it along and it keeps dropping connection when I try to send or receive messages - if it connects in the first place which it more often than not does not.
I tried removing the arduino from the powersupply and just power it by the USB port, but that didn't do much in terms of making it connect or prevent dropping af singal.
The only thing I can think of is if a poor signal would cause a powersurge and my external power supply isn't enough even if it provides 5V 2A?
